Where did the weekend go, you guys? WHERE DID IT GO? It hit me like a bus and ran off.

I feel like I got a lot accomplished though; Friday night I got my hair cut (which took freaking forever, and now it's way too damn butch) and went and lifted weights (which I guess went with the haircut). Then I used my elliptical for half an hour. Then I hunkered down expecting snow. Yeah, right. It snowed for about a minute Friday night. I worked on cleaning up fic and worked on my family project. The family project, in case you're wondering, is this; in May I interviewed my grandparents about their lives and recorded two days worth of stories, thoughts and memories. In about October I finally got around to beginning to transcribe it. IT IS EATING MY FUCKING LIFE. I have to have it done by Christmas. :/ It doesn't help that sometimes the recording's garbled. Anyway, so! Saturday. I got up and walked to the store, then just plain took a long walk. Then laundry and vacuuming and dishes. It snowed a bit, but not much. I finished all my leftovers for dinner. Then I worked on the family project for hours. Sunday, I played a little Skyrim. Yay. :) Then sweeping, cleaning the kitchen, an hour and a half on the elliptical, arranging Thanksgiving with my sister, more laundry and folding, made white chili with chicken and watched Next Iron Chef, then worked on the family project. Around 8:30, I sort of fell over and made moaning noises while my cat sniffed me. Quantum Leap may or may not have been on in the background. I was just sooooooooooooo tired. I think I'm maybe 2/3 of the way through the family project. I may need to take a day off to finish it completely. I think I've put a total of maybe twenty hours into it so far (including the interview and weeks of transcribing). But yes, I barely had a moment of down time this weekend. I got almost all my goals done--I just didn't manage to finish the family project. But now I see I couldn't have finished that anyway. And I have to make a list of the garbled bits and call my grandmother for clarification. *sigh*

RECS! <3 OMG you guys, a couple of these I've been meaning to rec forever!

A Butt Grows in Brooklyn by [livejournal.com profile] tawg this is a hilarious fic in which Phil takes an arrow in the butt and Steve is there to assist in getting it out. It's hilarious!

Uncommon Courtesy by [livejournal.com profile] adele_sparks. Eeeeeeee! My birthday gift! It's Steve/Phil sexy sweet adorable fantasticness!

Boys are Dumb by [livejournal.com profile] fairyniamh, okay, you already know I love Fairniamh, but even so I loved her even more for this. She wrote me the fic of my dreams! It's Pete Garvey/David Stanley from Zilpha Keatley Snyder's The Stanley Kids series. It's just sweet and funny and absolute perfection. It made my day. Heck, it made my LIFE.

Fantasies by [livejournal.com profile] zarabithia, lovely, LOVELY hurt/comfort in which Steve is injured and Phil takes care of him.

Win a Date with Captain America! by [livejournal.com profile] evrybodysdarlin, Phil saves Steve from a sexually aggressive fan. [livejournal.com profile] evrybodysdarlin is one of my new favorite writers. I absolutely love her Phil and Steve in here. Phil is badass but insecure and just, you know, real, and Steve is amazing--charming and flustered and earnest. I absolutely love this fic.

VIDS!
First up, two vids with Captain America set to Zero to Hero, just like God intended.
The first is by Radiobroadcast

Zero to Hero by Disneykid321

and last but not least, a fun Loki/Everyone vid set to Franz Ferdinand's Darts of Pleasure

/Loki/ Superphantastisch from Maschuldig on Vimeo.

That's the perfect word to describe them, I think! :D I was so pleased when I found out that OF COURSE someone was smart enough to make those! Fandom has not failed me.

Yay, accomplishment stuff! :)

I cut my hair last night and chopped off maybe a little more than I would have preferred, but oh well. It'll grow back and anyway, it needed a good whack. (May have to dump straightener on it now as the problem with cutting it when it gets overly long is that the damn evil natural wavy curl comes out with a vengeance...*grumble*)

My weekend hath suckethed, but that's another story.

Good luck with the transcribing. That can be tricky, especially if you've got questionable audio quality. But the family project sounds mucho cool! Makes me think of my grandparents. All of 'em are gone now, but my one grandma on my mom's side, her I miss most. She was fun to be around. (she died of Alzheimer's 6 years ago)

Me too--I'm so freaking butch right now it's kind of sad. But oh, well, it's really the least of my problems, so whatever. My big problem isn't curls, it's cowlicks. I have four of them! And when it's short like this . . . well, let me just tell you Alfalfa had it easy. I've got a ton of gel on it right now, hoping that works. *sigh*

My weekend sort of suckethed too. *hugs* Even getting stuff done--I feel like in Alice in Wonderland's 'Caucus Race'--where you do all the running you can to stay in one place. I'm legit exhausted.

I don't always get along with my grandmother (the abortion thing tends to create tension, and the hardline Catholicism of two of them) but I do love her. Some of the stuff they said was hilarious, but this is just such a lot of work. I spent almost three hours on it again last night, and I'm not sure whether I'm even halfway through. Guh, I just want to be done! Why do I get myself into these things?
